Although we are facing some of the most significant challenges and issues in the history of the USA, there is lots to celebrate!

1) We are a free nation – living the dream of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as so well stated in our Declaration of Independence.

2) We are one of the world’s largest – if not the largest – economies.

3) We are not under attack by foreign aggressors. (We should also pray for Ukraine and other countries being bullied.)

4) We have a world-class education system and are a decided world leader in innovation.

5) We celebrate our identity as one nation while also celebrating our diverse backgrounds. And we know deep down this diversity is what makes us strong.

6) Yes, we have our problems and challenges, but we are resilient and have overcome even tougher issues in the past (e.g., the Great Depression, wars that were fought on US soil, 911, etc.).

7) Many, many other less fortunate countries look up to us because of these things.

8) Shout out to the US military for their selfless and tireless efforts that have and continue to keep us safe. We would not enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy today if it weren’t for these fine men and women.

This list is just to name a few (not in any particular order), as I’m sure I have overlooked many things. I would be overjoyed should anyone wish to add to this list!

Meanwhile, let’s not overemphasize the negative and use this holiday as an opportunity to celebrate, take a “time out” from today’s problems and recharge, and re-unite ourselves and seek constructive solutions to today’s problems as we go forward.

God Bless the USA!!!
