I just read a recent BuzzFeed News article via Yahoo News<\/a> that underscored the level of dissatisfaction the medical community has regarding the new CDC guidelines on the coronavirus.  Here\u2019s my take:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what happens when we let politics rule – disconnection from the truth. All along, the medical community, starting with my primary care physician, has been my grounding rod for the truth. They dedicate their careers to keeping people healthy and saving lives. Most could care less about politics, especially the “red” versus “blue” camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence, the government can say all it wants, but I’m listening to my doctor and other credible sources within the medical community. I respectfully encourage everyone else to do the same. There is a lot of false information out there, from scare tactics to conspiracy theories, and I believe tuning out the politicians\/social media and tuning in the people who are in-the-know is an incredibly effective, easy, and painless way to go about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, we do need to fix the CDC, as it’s clearly broken. However, I strongly believe the most key ingredient is to decouple it from politics and the desires of ANY administration, red or blue. If we don’t do that, then we’re wasting our time with everything else because good people, good infrastructure and good\/sound\/balanced decisions will always be overridden by politics when the politicians are the ones who are in control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BTW, I also believe this same situation exists with the Federal Reserve \u2013 to much political influence, too little focus on the facts and the truth.<\/p>\n
